IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Check comprehension of the Actualidades reading (pp. 92–93) by asking students about the product being advertised and what role it plays in the lives of Mili and Sergio.
  2. Work through Después de leer question 1 (p. 93) with the class. Expand the discussion by asking students to describe the types of people they would expect to see in ads for other products, such as cars, shampoo, or the latest technological gadget.
  3. Put students in pairs and have them prepare, in writing, Después de leer question 2 (p. 93) for Actualidades. Encourage students to use vocabulary from Lección 3 in their description. Have pairs exchange descriptions and peer correct each other’s work.
  4. Announce the quiz on Lección 3 to be given during the next class and explain what material will be covered.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study for the quiz on Lección 3.
  2. Finish step C of Manos a la obra (p. 91) and bring the resulting clear and comprehensive rules document to the next class.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE OPTIONS

  1. Prepare the Escritura section on the VENTANAS CD-ROM.
  2. Provide students with the Práctica exercises from the Additional Activities for Lengua found in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
