IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Direct students’ attention to Sobre
el autor. Ask them how they would classify Lorena X301: Do they see
fantastic elements? Is the story typical science fiction?
- Have students summarize the story. Who are
the characters and what is their relationship? How have advances in technology
affected human life and society? (Refer to Análisis literario.) As
students were reading, what were their predictions about what was going to
happen and why?
- Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for Lorena X301 with the class. Follow the suggestion
in the anno in the IAE to ask students whether there could be such a thing as an
autonomous automaton.
- Put students in pairs for Después
de leer activities 3 and 4 for Lorena X301. Ask each pair to share
their list for activity 3 and their opinions from activity 4 with the
class.
- Present the Videoteca section. Model
the Spanish words and expressions in Vocabulario. Play the video without
sound. Ask students how they think the video relates to the lesson
theme.

work during the next class.
- Read Atando cabos and prepare steps
1–3 in writing for the next class.
- Finish preparing the Literatura
activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
