IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Present Los talk shows:
fascinación o rechazo. Present the vocabulary list, modeling the
Spanish words and expressions, and have students complete Conexión
personal in pairs. Ask students what differences, if any, they see between
Hispanic talk shows and U.S. talk shows. What do they think would have happened
to the narrator of Tiempo libre if he viewed talk shows daily rather than
reading the paper?
- Work through Después de leer
activities 1 and 2 for Los talk shows: fascinación o
rechazo with the class. Put students in small groups to discuss activity 3;
have each group present its conclusions to the class.
- Put students in pairs and allow them ten
minutes to begin work on Después de leer activity 4 for Los
talk shows: fascinación o rechazo.
- Show the video El milagro for the
final time.
- Have students present the new endings that
they prepared for Videoteca Después de ver el corto
activity 8.
- Present the Estrategia de
comunicación in Abriendo ventanas. As suggested in the anno in
the IAE, bring in some newspapers or Internet pages with stories related to the
Spanish-speaking world to aid students in generating
ideas.
ASSIGNMENT
- Finalize the talk show dialog for
Después de leer activity 4 for Los talk shows:
fascinación o rechazo. Be prepared to present the dialog to the
class.
- Have groups prepare their Abriendo
ventanas presentations for the next class.
- Continue preparing the Cultura
activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically
before class on Day 8.
