Day 3

IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Direct students’ attention to Sobre el autor. Ask them what role solitude plays in the lives of the characters in La indiferencia de Eva.
  2. Have students summarize the story. Ask them to describe the narrator and Eva. What kind of people are they? What do they think of each other? (Refer to Análisis literario.)
  3. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for La indiferencia de Eva with the class. Follow the suggestion in the anno in the IAE to ask students how Eva manipulated the narrator.
  4. Put students in pairs for Después de leer activity 3 for La indiferencia de Eva. Ask each pair to share their ending with the class.
  5. Present the Videoteca section. Model the Spanish words and expressions in Vocabulario. Play the video without sound. Ask students how they think the video relates to the lesson theme.
  6. Collect and correct the paragraphs students wrote for Después de leer activity 4 for La indiferencia de Eva.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study the Videoteca Vocabulario.
  2. Prepare Antes de ver el corto for oral work during the next class.
  3. Read Atando cabos and prepare step 1 in writing for the next class.
  4. Finish preparing the Literatura activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically before the next class.
