IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Ask pairs to present the dialogs they prepared for Atando cabos step 3.
  2. Present the painting and quote on the Cultura section opener. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
  3. Present the vocabulary list for Perfil: Carolina Herrera, modeling the Spanish words and expressions. Put students in pairs and have them complete Conexión personal.
  4. Ask students to tell you about Carolina Herrera’s life.
  5. Work through Después de leer activities 1 and 2 for Perfil: Carolina Herrera with the class. Put students in small groups for activity 3 and in pairs for activity 4.
  6. Work through Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 4 with the class. Have students discuss Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 5 in pairs.
  7. Collect and correct the compositions students wrote for Atando cabos step 4 and the letters students wrote for Videoteca Después de ver el corto activity 6.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Prepare Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 7 and 8. Be prepared to present the alternate endings written for activity 8 to the class.
  2. Study the Vocabulario for Caravana de sal.
  3. Read Antes de leer and Caravana de sal. Prepare the Después de leer activities for the next class. Do activity 3 in writing.
  4. Go to the VENTANAS web site and prepare the Cultura activity to be submitted electronically before class on Day 8.
