IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Put students in pairs to discuss Atando cabos step1. Have each pair present the results of its discussion to the class.
  2. Present Atando cabos step 2.
  3. Present the painting and quote on the Cultura section opener. Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
  4. Present the profile on Mauricio Purto and do the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer with the class. Present the vocabulary list, modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  5. Read Contexto cultural with the class. Ask students if they practice any high-risk sports. What do they see as the attraction of such sports? What type of people are drawn to high-risk sports?
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Follow the Plan de redacción in step 2 of Atando cabos to write a description of the ideal future world.
  2. Study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Mauricio Purto.
  3. Read Perfil: Mauricio Purto and prepare the Después de leer activities for the next class.
