IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Discuss the Conexión personal questions for El derecho al delirio with the class.
  2. Direct students’ attention to Sobre el autor and ask them how the political realities of Latin America have affected Galeano.
  3. Work through Después de leer activity 1 for El derecho al delirio with the class. Put students in pairs for activities 2 and 3. Follow the anno in the IAE to have students write questions containing si clauses.
  4. As a class, discuss the cataloguing technique that Galeano employs (Análisis literario) and what his purpose was in writing the essay (Estrategia de lectura). The suggestions in the annos on pp. 140 and 141 may help with the discussion.
  5. Put students in groups of four for Después de leer activity 4 for El derecho al delirio.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Read and prepare Atando cabos in preparation for the next class.
  2. Finish preparing the Literatura activity from the VENTANAS web site to be submitted electronically before the next class.
