IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Ask groups to present their Scene IV for Después de leer activity 4 for 1 x 1 = 1, pero 1 + 1 = 2.
  2. Put students in pairs and have them work through step 1 of Atando cabos. Follow the suggestion in the anno in the IAE to remind students that “crazy behavior” is determined by contrasting it with a specific norm. Ask students if they see any “crazy behavior” in the video La hora de comer.
  3. Have students do Después de leer activity 5 for 1 x 1 = 1, pero 1 + 1 = 2 in groups of three. Remind students that behaviors they consider normal could be considered crazy in certain contexts.
  4. Have students do Atando cabos step 2 in pairs.
  5. Put students in pairs and have them work through Antes de ver el corto.
  6. Show the video, with sound. As a class, complete the Mientras ves el corto activities.
  7. Collect and correct the statements students wrote for Atando cabos step 3.
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Finalize the dialogs written for Después de leer activity 5 for 1 x 1 = 1, pero 1 + 1 = 2 and be prepared to present them to the class.
  2. Study the Vocabulario for Perfil: El doctor Carlos J. Finlay.
  3. Read Antes de leer and Perfil: El doctor Carlos J. Finlay.
  4. Prepare the Después de leer activities for Perfil: El doctor Carlos J. Finlay for the next class.
  5. Prepare Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 4, 5, and 6.
