IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Put students in pairs to discuss Atando
cabos step1. Have each pair present the results of its discussion to the
class.
- Present Atando cabos step 2.
- Present the painting and quote on the
Cultura section opener. Use the suggestions found in Additional
Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource
Manual.
- Present the profile on Catalina de Erauso and
do the Conexión personal questions in Antes de leer with
the class. Present the vocabulary list, modeling the Spanish words and
expressions.
- Read Contexto cultural with the class.
Describe the work and lives of the three nuns mentioned. Follow the suggestion
in the anno in the IAE to have students discuss why women today become nuns and
how and why those reasons differ from the reasons women had in the sixteenth and
seventeenth
centuries.
ASSIGNMENT
- Follow the Plan de redacción in
step 2 of Atando cabos to write travel advice.
- Study the Vocabulario for Perfil:
Catalina de Erauso.
- Read Perfil: Catalina de Erauso and
prepare the Después de leer activities for the next
class.
