IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
  1. Work through Atando cabos step 1 (p. 61) with the class. Have students do Atando cabos step 2 (p. 61) in pairs.
  2. Present the painting and quote on the Cultura section opener (p. 62). Use the suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the Instructor’s Resource Manual.
  3. Present the profile on Jorge Ramos and do the Conexión personal questions (p. 63) in Antes de leer with the class. Present the vocabulary list (p. 63), modeling the Spanish words and expressions.
  4. Put students in pairs and have them work through Antes de ver el corto (p. 72).
  5. Show the video, with sound. Have students work in pairs to complete the Mientras ves el corto activities (p. 72). Show the video again and have students correct the Mientras ves el corto activities.
  6. Collect and correct the anecdotes students wrote up for Atando cabos step 3 (p. 61).
ASSIGNMENT
  1. Study the Vocabulario for Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 63).
  2. Read Contexto cultural in Antes de leer (p. 63) and read Perfil: Jorge Ramos (pp. 64–65).
  3. Prepare the Después de leer activities for Perfil: Jorge Ramos (p. 66) for the next class.
  4. Prepare Videoteca Después de ver el corto activities 4, 5, and 6 (p. 73). Do activity 6 in writing.
