IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask for volunteers to read aloud their
paragraphs explaining how the quote on the Literatura section opener for
Lección 3 (p. 50) can be applied to the picture. Use the
suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the
Instructor’s Resource Manual to direct/expand the discussion. Ask students
how the quote and picture tie into the lesson theme, La vida
diaria.
- Present the vocabulary list (p. 51), modeling
the Spanish words and expressions.
- Discuss the Conexión
personal (p. 51) questions in Antes de leer with the class.
Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented. Have students read the
Contexto cultural (p. 51).
- Present Análisis literario and
Estrategia de lectura (p.
51).
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the Vocabulario for
Conciencia breve (p. 51).
- Read Conciencia breve (pp.
52–53).
- Decide on the tone of the story
(Análisis literario, p. 51) and as you read, write down your
predictions about what will happen next (Estrategia de lectura, p.
51).
- Prepare the Después de leer
activities for Conciencia breve (p. 54) for the next class.
- Go to the VENTANAS web site and
prepare the Literatura activity to be submitted electronically before
class on Day 4.
