IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES
- Ask for volunteers to read aloud their
paragraphs explaining how the quote on the Literatura section opener for
Lección 2 (p. 28) can be applied to the picture. Use the
suggestions found in Additional Teaching Suggestions for Lecturas in the
Instructor’s Resource Manual to direct/expand the discussion. Ask students
how the quote and picture tie into the lesson theme, Las
diversiones.
- Present the vocabulary list (p. 29), modeling
the Spanish words and expressions.
- Discuss the Conexión
personal (p. 29) questions in Antes de leer with the class.
Encourage students to use the vocabulary just presented. Have students read the
Contexto cultural (p. 29).
- Present Análisis literario and
Estrategia de lectura (p.
29).
ASSIGNMENT
- Study the Vocabulario for
Idilio (p. 29).
- Read Idilio (pp.
30–31).
- Decide on the moral lesson of the story
(Análisis literario, p. 29).
- Prepare the Después de leer
activities for Idilio (p. 32) for the next class. Do activity 4 in
writing.
- Go to the VENTANAS web site and
prepare the Literatura activity to be submitted electronically before
class on Day 4.
