- Ask students
what they know of Pablo Neruda. Direct their
attention to Sobre el autor (p. 4).
- Ask students
to read Poema 20 aloud (pp. 4–5).
After lines 10, 20, and 32, have students
summarize the poem’s content.
- Work through
Después de leer activities 1,
2, and 3 (p. 6) for Poema 20 with the
class. Have students use the personification
charts they completed to aid in answering
activity 2.
- Put students
in pairs and have them complete Después
de leer activities 4 and 5 (p. 6).
- Work through
the Antes de leer section for Aqueronte
(p. 7). Do the Conexión personal
questions with the class. Have students read
the Contexto cultural. Present Análisis
literario and Estrategia de lectura.
ASSIGNMENT

- Complete
the mood chart in Análisis literario
(p. 7).
- Prepare Después
de leer activities 1 and 2 for Aqueronte

end of class on Day 4.
