In the Exploración section in your textbook on page 267, you learned about housing in the Spanish-speaking world. Use the Internet to find out more about la vivienda en el mundo hispano by completing the following items.
  1. Who designed the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo (Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio Museum), which was once the artists’ home in Mexico? Describe its architecture.

  2. Look at photos and read descriptions of Pablo Neruda’s three homes in Chile: La Chascona in Santiago, La Sebastiana in Valparaiso, and his home in Isla Negra. How are they different from each other? Which would you prefer to live in? Why?

  3. Find out how much it costs to rent a two-bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires. Write down the locations and cost for three apartments and the website(s) where you found the information.

  4. Search for a ferretería (hardware store) in a Spanish-speaking country and list five household items you can buy there.

  5. Choose a city in the Hispanic world and using the yellow pages, find a plumber (plomero, fontanero in Central America and Spain; gasfitero in Peru), an electrician (electricista), and a carpenter (carpintero). Write the names of the tradespeople and the company where they work. Note the website(s) where you found this information.
